Six-time world champion boxer Lucia Rijker will be taking the stage in Butte over the weekend, as Helena-based Pink Gloves Boxing is hosting its first annual convention at 110 Park Street in the Mining City.

The fitness company started in 2006 with two young men, Garret Garrels and Nick Milodragovich, who had a vision to change the way women exercise.

Now, just four years later, they have expanded across the U.S. and even internationally.

Garrels says this weekend's event brings together fitness and philanthropy, with all proceeds going to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which battles breast cancer.

Garrels said, "We want to get people in there to feel what it is like to punch and be a part of something, where they are kind of bringing the best out of themselves. Boxing history has always been where you are stepping outside your comfort zone and it's saved many people's lives. There is something special about not being able to just punch something, but work out with it, bring your best character out. That is what Pink Gloves is about."
