Sisters identified as victims in Billings double-homicide

Police have identified Rose Edwards, 22, and Daisy Edwards, 21, as the victims of a double-homicide in Billings on Sunday.

According to Lieutenant Kevin Iffland, the Edwards sisters were killed at the Ponderosa Acres Apartment Complex early Sunday morning.

Both women lived in Billings, but only one of them lived at the apartment.

Andrew Denning of Billings, 20 years old, was arrested early Monday morning in connection with the murders.

Denning has been charged with two counts of deliberate homicide and remains in the Yellowstone County Detention Center.

He is set to make his initial appearance in Justice Court on Wednesday afternoon.

Details surrounding the deaths have not been released, but the crime scene has been described by police as "heinous."

A fund for the Edwards family has been set up at U.S. Bank; donations will be accepted at all branches.


(January 30, 2012) Andrew Scott Denning of Billings has been booked in the Yellowstone County Detention Center on two counts of deliberate homicide.

Denning, 20, was arrested early Monday morning after two women were found dead in an apartment complex on Sunday.

The victims are sisters, a 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman; their names have not yet been released.

Autopsies are planned for Monday afternoon to determine the cause and manner of death.

Billings police originally stopped by the apartment for a welfare check, after a concerned co-worker called police after one of the women didn't show up for work or answer phone calls.

Billings Police Chief Rich St. John described it as a "very, very heinous crime scene...a very tragic event."

Authorities do not yet know the possible motive.
