Shop classes at Capital High School might start to look more like a country club, with golf balls flying through the air.
First Interstate Bank's Bill Cockhill surprised Tom Kain, the welding and industrial tech teacher, with a $250 check recently as part of the One Class At A Time program.
The money will help purchase the building materials for a contraption to launch a golf ball.
Kain says the new project will impact 70 students in more ways than one: "Trying to put math and science into these shop classes...they are actually career and tech ed so we are training students not only hands-on skills but critical problem-solving and critical thinking which is going to help them overall."
