The Montana Agriculture & Industrial Expo, better known as MAGIE, in Great Falls is more than a venue to display equipment, tools and technology.

Montana's future agriculture leaders are also given an opportunity to display their talents.

FFA members were on hand throughout the three day event.

Participants compete in contests ranging from livestock to sales and services.

The members also spoke with MAGIE attendees, and spread the word about Montana's FFA program.

Montana's FFA Foundation Executive Director Jaime Cargill said, "Shows like the MAGIE are a great way for us to get out there, see the kids in the blue coats and understand what great leaders we're bringing up in this organization."

She says the various contests help them to become responsible, business minded adults that are someday going to be in our industry.

FFA participant Hannah Bloomquist said the program includes more than just farm and ranch kids; she noted, "There's kids from CMR that don't live on a ranch or do the livestock. There's so much more knowledge we can give to people about FFA."

Cargill said FFA is continually growing in Montana, with currently 2,500 students in 85 FFA chapters around the state.
