The U.S. Marshals Service reported on Wednesday that one of its most wanted fugitives in Montana has been caught near Missoula.
Guy Eric Waldron, 32, was nabbed on Interstate 90 on Tuesday after a person saw the BOLO Alert on Montana's News Station, according to an e-mail sent by Rod Ostermiller with the U.S. Marshals Service in Billings.
A BOLO Alert was issued on June 28 for Waldron who was wanted for a probation violation following a conviction of "user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm."
On that day, Waldron was believed to have fled the Great Falls area and was later spotted near Libby, where he led law enforcement officers on a 15-mile chase, eventually jumping out of his vehicle and fleeing into heavily-forested mountains.
He eluded authorities until July 6th when a Granite County Deputy recognized him from the BOLO Alert that aired on Montana's News Station. The deputy contacted the U.S. Marshals Service, who quickly coordinated with the sheriff's departments in Granite and Missoula Counties, the MT Highway Patrol, and the Missoula Police Department.
Officials blocked nearby highway exits along I-90 to prevent Waldron from entering the city, and he was then surrounded on the highway by law enforcement officials and taken into custody without incident.
