Disappearance of Great Falls man in Idaho called "suspicious"

The disappearance of Great Falls resident Brian Shookman in Idaho several weeks ago is now being called suspicious by law enforcement officials.

Shookman, 32, was last seen on July 28th while visiting friends in Kellogg, Idaho.

He left a friend's house that afternoon and was expected to be headed to a family gathering at an aunt's house a few miles away at Sunny Slopes near Osburn. However, relatives said he never showed up.

On Sunday, the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office released the following statement:

On August 1st 2012, the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office took a missing persons report regarding Brian Edwin Shookman, 32, of Great Falls, Montana.

Since the initial report was taken, information has been discovered which leads investigators to believe that the disappearance of Brian Shookman is suspicious and that foul play may have been involved.

Currently, the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office has three deputies following leads on this case.

Citizens are urged to contact the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office with any information regarding the disappearance of Brian E. Shookman.

Due to the nature of this investigation, no further information will be released at this time.

Shookman was driving a 1998 maroon Ford Escort with Montana license plates.

(August 15, 2012) Authorities in northern Idaho are asking for the public's help in locating Brian Edwin Shookman, a 32-year-old Great Falls man who hasn't been seen since late July.

The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office says Shookman had been visiting friends in Kellogg on July 28th.

He left a friend's house that afternoon and was expected to be headed to a family gathering at an aunt's house a few miles away at Sunny Slopes near Osburn.

However, relatives said he never showed up and they ended up calling the Sheriff's department, although that didn't happen until August 1st.

Shookman is described as 5'7" tall, about 170 pounds, and has strawberry blond hair and blue eyes.

Investigators are asking anyone with information that could help locate Shookman to contact the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office at (208) 556.1114.
