    Montana FWP looking at other ways to manage wolves

    On Thursday, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commissioners voted unanimously to stop the wolf hunt in the Bitterroot despite low harvest numbers.

    The Commission hoped hunters would harvest 18 wolves in the Bitterroot but only were 6 killed.

    Montana FWP approves bison hunt

    The Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commission is giving people another chance to hunt bison.

    On Thursday, by a 4 to 1 vote, the commission decided to allow hunters the opportunity to shoot a bison outside defined tolerance areas and outside the hunting normal season.

    Season ends with 166 wolves harvested in Montana

    The 2011-2012 wolf hunting season in Montana fell short of achieving the quota of 220 wolves.

    Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks reports that a total 166 wolves were harvested during the season in 14 separate wolf hunting units across the state.

    FWP approves commercial fishing permit on Canyon Ferry

    The Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks (FWP) Commission voted to approve a commercial fishing operation on two lakes near Helena.

    Montana wolf hunt quota 60% filled

    Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) reports that the statewide quota for wolf hunting season is now 60% filled.

    Great Falls man arrested on poaching charges

    Russell Ross Rennick of Great Falls was arrested on Thursday morning on five misdemeanor counts of poaching.

    Wolf hunting quota filled in NW Montana
